Denmark: the 24 March 2026 Folketing election

The latest Folketing election was on 24 March 2026, not 2022. The next election has no announced date.

Held · The next Folketing election has no announced date. Valg.info does not calculate a deadline.

How the election works

The Folketing is elected proportionally. The prime minister can call an election before the term ends.

Because an election can be called at any time, valg.info shows no countdown and calculates no deadline from earlier elections.

Why it matters in Norway

Denmark is a Nordic neighbour and EU member.

Seats elected in Denmark

175 of the Folketing’s 179 seats are elected in Denmark. This is Statistics Denmark’s allocation from the March 24, 2026 election: 135 constituency and 40 adjustment seats. It describes the election allocation, not current membership.

Four seats are not imported

The two seats from Greenland and two from the Faroe Islands are outside this table. Missing data does not mean zero seats. We therefore do not show a complete coalition calculation for the whole Folketing here.

Denmark: parties and independents from the fine-count result. The two seat types are components of the same total.
